Welcome to the Blog

Please check out the new website for Shampoo by Timothy at www.shampoogirl.com

All the latest updates and open appointments can be found there!!

Its been a looooong time since I’ve blogged on here but the best way to keep up with things at the salon is through facebook.  You can find a link on here to get to the fan page for Shampoo by Timothy. The new website will be up and running soon. I have changed the name or at least made it official, the salon is now called Shampoo by Timothy.

Hope everyone has a great holiday season and don’t forget to book your appointments now!!!

Summer is drawing even closer to a close and I haven’t been on here in ages. It seems that my fanpage on Facebook called Shampoo is a bit easier to keep people up with whats going on.

Shampoogirl.com is still in the works and hopefully will be easier to use and more useful!! Several people at the salon are using an online service for booking appointments. I am going to let them use it for a while and see how it is and perhaps in the near future use it myself.

You can easily link from here to my Shampoo page on Facebook so check it out and enjoy the rest of summer!! Be thinking about lowlights and booking for the holidays!!

It is nearly spring break and I want to remind everyone that I will be out of salon from the 13th of March to the 19th. I will be back at work on the 20th. Right now there is one appointment open for that day. Hurry and get your appointment on the books before they are all gone!!

Speaking of spring break, if you are going to the beach, come in and get your beach hair care products. Special shampoos and conditioners made just for the beach or pool.  Let the sun and water do its job though and start the lightning process, summer is around the corner so its time to start shaking off the winter blues and blahs, just make sure you take good care of your locks!!!

Winter is definetly upon us!!! A lot of you probably are having some static isssues. Bounce fabric softener can be your answer,  just run a sheet over the top of your hair and static should disappear!!!

As of January 29th, I am officially a married man. Tim, the kids and I went to Vancouver BC for during the Christmas holiday as a family present, and while we were there, Tim and I were legally married. Yes it feels different and no it doesn’t. When we put on our rings last year to us that was the moment we were promising to be together for the rest of our lives, so we have felt married for awhile now. We used our rings that we have now for the ceremony, I think after polishing them with a dirty sock!!! It was fast and beautiful and the kids got to be our witnesses, so that made it extra special for us all.

Hope everyone has a prosperous and drama free new year and looking forward to seeing you all soon.

That time of year is upon us again, and for many it won’t be a hard candy Christmas. This is a good time to be thankful for all that we do have, and enjoy the simple things like family.

Speaking of family, don’t get caught at any family functions or holiday parties with roots a mile long!! Long time clients, I do have a few spots where I can squeeze you in if needed. New clients, I am sorry but you’ll have to wait till after the new year to schedule an appointment. I like to focus soley on you during your first visit.

Make sure to become a fan of Shampoo on facebook, look there too for updates on things going on.

Remember too that I will be on holiday from Christmas day returning back to work on Wednesday January 6th.

We will be spending the holiday in Vancouver, BC, with the kids. None of us has ever been to Canada so looking foward to it.  Tim and I are also going to be getting married while we are there!! More on that when we get back.

Wishing everyone a safe, beautiful and magical holiday season, T

We just got back from Hawaii and as much fun as I had I am certainly glad to be back. Can’t wait to see the kids and was so happy to see out little puppies and most of all sleep for a long time in our great big bed!!!

I was inspired by the beach and island way of  life, although it took us a few days, a convertible and a long drive around the island of O’hau to really get in to the aloha spirit.

Flowers, flowers, flowers!! Everywhere! Those of you who know me know that I am a huge fan of flowers in the hair, but I must say don’t just plop a fake one right on top of your head!

Try when you can to use real fresh flowers

Be thoughtful of placement

Make sure your hair is not just a stringy mess and think a plastic flower will do the trick!!

Having arrived back in Dallas to this lovely fall weather also makes me think about the richness of a darker color for autumn, so think about coming in and getting some lowlights back in that summer blonde hair or if you are a brunette, lets get some deep dark and delicious gold, auburn or even plum brown back in the ends of that hair, which by the way looked wonderful for the summer but now its time to get it gone.

Now to combine the seasons, don’t be afraid to put that flower in your newly darkened locks, just use a more tradtional fall bloomer and not the hibiscus!!

On another note, remember that we are getting closer and closer to the holiday season, so if we haven’t booked you through the year yet, email or call and lets get you on the books. Remember that time on my books at this point is like currency!  Just a reminder too that my holiday hours are as follows

Nov 26th thru Dec 1st  I will be gone

Dec 25th thru Jan 4th I will be gone, but am working on Christmas Eve with 2 appts still open

You never think its going to happen to you but indeed it does!! I will be turning 40 on September 10th. 40 is the new 30 I guess. I think I’m going to have to turn forty to ponder forty, but I did want to let everyone know that I will be celebrating this milestone in Hawaii with my husband Tim from the 16th of September to the 24th. Back to work on the 25th.

Hope everyone has a great and safe Labor Day Weekend! I of course will be back in Kansas for our annual family reunion, so see you when I get back.

Seems that its been sometime since I have been on here to blog but I don’t always want to be a windbag that goes on and on without much to say!

Hope that everyone has a happy and safe holiday weekend free of firework burns, sunburns, and hangovers tomorrow! Don’t forget to use your summer haircare products to protect that color that although I am not that expensive in todays economy no one can afford to waste money!!!

I would also like to request that everyone spare a quick thought or prayer to whatever diety you prefer for my mother who has one more chemo treatment left. She has and is having so many complications this time around that she is really struggling to stay positive and is sick and tired of being sick and tired. She had a biopsy this week on something that they found in her breast and we are hoping that she doens’t actually have breast cancer at the same time that she is going through ovarian cancer again.

Thanks for being great clients or prospective new ones and don’t forget to sign the guestbook, otherwise I will have to publish all the offers I get to see Jennifer Aniston naked!!! I get so excited to see that I got a new guestbook signature and all it is is an offer to see(alledgedly) celebrities nude!!!

I’ve alway been taught to leave politics and religion out of the hair salon, but the California Supreme Court handed down their ruling today on whether or not to uphold proposition 8. We lost.

I don’t have a problem with people who don’t agree with marraige equality, that is the beauty about being an adult American, you can believe what you want. I do have a problem with my right to marry the person of my choice being up for a vote.

Everyone deserves the same things in this life and no one has the right to decide whats good for others, mind your business.

To everyone who does believe in marraige equality, I thank you for your rational thinking and keep making babies, because we need more people like you to be parents and raise children without teaching hate and intolerance.

To those who don’t agree, I’d like to extend an invitation to sit and start a dialogue and get to a better place of understanding.
